About Bournemouth Town Square - Camera Obscura and Café

The Square in Bournemouth is a public open space and a meeting place for residents, and tourists alike.
It provides seating areas and an informal gathering place for street entertainers. One of the features
of the Square is a building in the centre, designed by Trinity Architects, which houses a camera
obscura and café with outdoor seating area.

Flowing beneath the square is the Bourne stream, which provided the inspiration for the mosaic designed
by Maggie Howarth of Cobblestone Design of Lancaster. The tail of the mosaic rises out of The Square, and
flows to the sea, and the theme includes mermaids, fishes and Neptune.

How to get to Bournemouth Town Square

All major bus routes across the town go through the town centre and are easily accessible.
The main bus services running through the town centre to Poole and Christchurch are
Wilts & Dorset and Yellow Buses.

Visiting Bournemouth and things to do

In vibrant Bournemouth life is all about the seven miles of golden beaches. You can hire beach
huts to relax in between building sand castles, and water sports enthusiasts could head to
Boscombe for superb surfing.
